North Middlesex celebrates IDM
on 05 May 2021
International Day of the midwife was a busy day, and started with refreshments in the form of croissants and juice for night staff, and goodie bags from the North Middlesex Trust, for every midwife.
The day continued with an awards event to celebrate long serving and innovative staff, all carefully Covid-19 secure, but with a real zing! We had presentations from student midwives about how they had valued working at the North Mid and the support they had received, and from lead midwives within the unit for their work over the last year.
There was a fabulous but Covid-19 safe lunch, so midwives and students, and others in the maternity service team were able to gather up lunch boxes.. and cake! There was a fabulous cake, made and decorated by Mabel, who used the ICM theme... and what a cake!
We had prepared little goodies bags for all midwife and student midwife members, so then carried out our promenade approach through the unit, to ensure that everyone got a visit… a North Mid RCM goodie bag and cake!!
And we did do some selfies... but that got tricky when trying to squeeze many people in the picture!
