Following the announcement of draft emergency legislation today, Gill Walton, Chief Executive of the Royal College of Midwives, said:

“The introduction of this emergency legislation is welcome, as it provides the flexibility the National Health Service needs to provide the right levels of care and support during this current crisis. We will continue to work alongside the UK and national governments to ensure that our members, too, receive the right support to deliver good care. That means ensuring they have the right resources, including personal protective equipment, and access to testing, to ensure they remain safe and well.”
