Commenting on the latest progress report on Cwm Taf Morgannwg University Health Board maternity services, Helen Rogers, Director for Wales at the Royal College of Midwives (RCM), said: “Maternity staff and senior managers at Cwm Taf Morgannwg are working extremely hard to meet all the recommendations of the reviews on their services. That dedication and commitment shows in the progress outlined in the report today. It is progress made in the teeth of the pandemic which has put massive and additional pressure on them.
“This report will also be good news for local women who access these maternity services. It will I hope, give them a lot of reassurance about the safety and high quality of care across the Health Board, and the high standards they should rightly expect of their maternity services.
“The RCM will continue to work with the Health Board and support our members during these challenging times.”
