RCM Wales members accept Welsh Government NHS pay offer

Midwives and maternity support worker members of the Royal College of Midwives (RCM) in Wales have accepted the negotiated proposals for NHS staff on the Agenda for Chang pay scale.
A large majority (86.90%) of respondents voted to accept the negotiated set of proposals for staff in the NHS in Wales.
The announcement follows a consultation with members in Wales by the RCM which closed at midnight last night (Sunday, 16th September 2018).
This negotiated agreement is for Wales. Pay deals have already been agreed with the governments for staff in the NHS in England and Scotland.
Commenting on the result, Helen Rogers, RCM Director for Wales, said: “This was a very good offer, especially in the current climate. I am pleased that our members have accepted it by such an overwhelming majority. It means that midwives, maternity support workers and other NHS staff can start to see real increases in their pay. I see this as the start of better and fairer pay for midwives and other NHS staff in Wales.”
Part of the pay deal was negotiating the all Wales menopause policy and a revision of the managing attendance policy with an emphasis on improving the health and well being of staff.
